Ordering FAQs

I want to make a reservation to pick up ice cream, but there are no reservations available for months. Is this because you’re sold out through the summer?

No. We open up pickup reservations one day at a time at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Once those reservations fill up, no new customers will be able to order until we open the next round of reservations. We will continue to open new reservations at these three times every week.

I tried to make a reservation at 7:05 PM on Tues/Thus/Sat and there were no reservations available. Why not?

As soon as reservations fill up, no new customers will be able to order until the next round of reservations are opened. Reservations can fill up within a minute or two, depending on how many people are trying to order.

I picked a pickup time slot to reserve, but wasn’t able to place an order, what happened?

You will need to fill out your reservation and click “confirm.” Your reservation is not complete until you click “confirm.” Reservations can fill up quickly, and without clicking “confirm,” your reservation will not be secured.

Can’t you open up more reservations?

Unfortunately, no, not currently. In order to allow for our employees to social distance while working, we can only have four employees work at a time to pack, bag, and deliver the orders to our customer’s cars. Last summer, we had up to a maximum of nineteen employees working at once. With only four employees working at a time, we are substantially more limited in our ability to fulfill orders.

Can’t you create a better system?

“Better” is in the eye of the beholder. Our staff size will be limited no matter what system we create. Four employees cannot pack and bag the same number of orders as nineteen employees working at once. The system we have in place maximizes safety and output, so given these unprecedented circumstances of a pandemic, we do not believe there is a better system to implement. Believe us when we say that we wish we could operate like normal! This pandemic has impacted us all in ways we never imagined. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy in these unprecedented times!

Why can’t you just open the store and let customers take pints and quarts to go?

We are currently packing and bagging the maximum amount of pints and quarts possible. Our overall output is substantially limited, with only four employees scooping to maintain social distance at all times. For the safety of everyone, we feel much more comfortable selling these pints and quarts through a no-contact online ordering system.
